Format Multiple Images Simultaneously with SmartArt Tools

Images form the heart of many presentations. But editing images for a PowerPoint presentation can be an extremely slow process. Luckily, SmartArt offers user-friendly tools that can save you time and effort.

SmartArt brings together a lot of convenient options to quickly edit images with just a few clicks. Not only is it easy to adjust the image size, but you can also crop images, add captions, or make collages. Here are a few tips.

How to Use SmartArt Tools:

  1. Go to Insert > Pictures, select your images and click
  2. Ctrl left-click each image. Go to Picture Tools > Format > Picture Layout. There you can choose from a number of different layout options. Your images will now be a SmartArt graphic that can be edited and moved using SmartArt tools.
  3. To move or align an image within the SmartArt graphic, right-click the image and select Size and Position. Under Shape Options, select Picture > Crop. Use Offset X and Offset Y to reposition the image within the graphic.
  4. To change the shape of the images in your SmartArt graphic, go to SmartArt Tools > Design > Convert > Convert to Shapes. Select the image you want to customize and go to Drawing Tools > Format > Edit Shape > Change Shape. There you can choose from a large selection of different shapes.
