Presentation Watch #1

In our new blog series, Presentation Watch, we give overviews of interesting articles, videos and websites on the topic of PowerPoint presentations.

Our beginning marks a blog post by Simon Porter called “I love PowerPoint!” This entertaining post alludes to how useful PowerPoint has gotten over the years for professors, teachers, instructors and the community TES. Porter countered the much vaunted phrase, “Death to PowerPoint” and reports his own perspective on positive experiences with the use of slides in classrooms and lectures.

Are you planning a speech in front of your colleagues or a large audience? Have no fear! Check out Brenton Haynes blog, 10 Tips to Beat Your Fear of Public Speaking. Along with some noteworthy suggestions, Haynes gives some insight on how to get over stage fright.

Have fun with PowerPoint! The English comedian, Dave Gorman is currently on tour with his show, Dave Gorman Gets Straight to the Point* (*The PowerPoint). Watch this excerpt from his show, Modern Life is Goodish and you might just get a couple ideas for how PowerPoint can be fun and creative.
